Ride The Lobster

Welcomes the Ride the Lobster Tour to our Communities 
800km international unicycle relay race, Nova Scotia, Canada, 16-20 June 2008 -
Simply “… the closest thing to The Tour de France for unicyclists"

The Ride the Lobster racing society is organizing an 800 km unicycle race to take place in Nova Scotia this June, drawing racing teams and media from all over the world. More information on the race is available at ridethelobster.com. The race is scheduled to be in the Municipality of the District of Chester on June 17th and 18th.   "Your local Chamber of Commerce is encouraging homes and businesses in the area to welcome the unicycling entourage by lighting up our community with white lights and/or patio lanterns on the evening of June 17th."

Relay For Life
relayforlife.jpegThe Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a celebration of survival and a tribute to the lives of loved ones who have been touched by cancer. Teams of 10 - 12 people participate in an overnight non-competitive relay, taking turns walking, running or strolling around a track. This years event in Chester is being held on June 20Th. Chester Race Week
Chester Race Week is the largest keel boat race east of Montreal. The four day event takes place from August 13 to 16, 2008 and has been presented by the Chester Yacht Club for over 100 years. Race Week provides highly competitive racing in several classes. Residents and visitors are welcome to view the action from the deck of the club and join the racers for live music, barbeques and dancing.
